Mark Rayner

CEO and Founder of EASE Wellbeing

Mark began his working life supporting medical practices and hospitals with their finances in Manhattan in the 80s. He returned to the UK in the 90s taking roles in client relationships in the commercial property and leisure management sectors. He embarked on a master’s training in 1995 in psychotherapy and counselling while working in schools in a children’s therapeutic charity. He spent the next 25 years working part-time as a senior highly specialised psychologist therapist in the NHS whilst also providing private psychotherapy to adults.

He took up a position on faculty at a central London university where he taught at post-graduate master’s and doctoral level across a numbers of disciplines and paradigms immersing himself in applying philosophy and theory to practice with an emphasis on monitoring and measuring outcomes in psychotherapy and counselling. During this time he spoke at conferences across America and Europe as well as in the UK and London, focusing on what works in therapy, for whom how and when and published a number of papers in that area.

This lead to the development of EASE Wellbeing talking therapy service until the constraints of the settings he worked in led him to move into areas that promoted closer human encounters in the areas of business career and life coaching.  He and the EASE team are focusing on the expansion of EASE as a service treating a variety of diagnosed and living concerns such as anxiety and depression as well as hope, purpose and meaning. He is developing ventures in the SME and corporate sectors promoting healing around trauma and distress as the world sees the changes of the past 5 years impacting and unhinging both individuals and corporate functioning, creating huge attrition of staff and losses to the economy.
