Veronica Surfaro

Veronica is currently a trainee Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist and is completing her Doctorate in Psychology and Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute (Middlesex University). Her approach to therapy is integrative. Her research interest is in psychedelic-assisted therapy from a counselling psychology perspective. Veronica has a Master’s degree in Psychology and an Undergraduate degree also in Psychology, both obtained at the University of Naples (Italy) ‘Federico II’. Veronica also has got a Diploma in Teaching obtained in the UK. 

Veronica currently works as Specialist Mental Health Advisor at Bournemouth University, where she supports students with mental health difficulties and who are neurodivergent. Prior to that, Veronica worked to support the mental health of college-aged students. During that time, she also undertook additional roles and responsibilities, including being a Designated Safeguarding Officer and coordinating a number of projects aimed at promoting the wellbeing of staff and students. Veronica also volunteered for the British Psychological Society as Research Assistant for a year. 

Veronica joined EASE Wellbeing in October 2023 as a honorary therapist. Prior to that, Veronica worked as honorary therapist in a charity and in low-cost online therapy service. Veronica believes that every person’s experiences are unique, and that creating a positive working relationship is central for creating a space in which to process what causes distress, gain a greater self-understanding, and explore new meanings and possibilities.
