Badriya Mohamud

Badriya has 10 years experience working within the mental health and social care sector. She has had the pleasure of meeting and supporting people from all walks of life. In her counselling practice, Badriya has been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to work therapeutically with clients who present with a wide range of mental and emotional issues, including stress, anxiety and depression. She can be described as having a gentle, compassionate but firm approach when establishing healthy therapeutic relationships. She is able to offer an empathic, non-judgemental and safe space for clients to explore their deepest inner thoughts, experiences and reach desired therapeutic goals.

Badriya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of East London, as well as having undertaken levels 2 and 3 training in Counselling Skills and is currently training on the level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. She is also a student Member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

The knowledge of psychological theory Badriya has gained through her degree and the compassion and empathy acquired while supporting mental health service users, combined with her counselling training levels 2 through to 4 have greatly aided her proficiency in counselling practice. Badriya also has several years of experience as a medical administrator within the NHS, where she has gained skills which enable her to stay organised and manage time efficiently, providing clients with a consistent and dependable service. 

Her work experience in supporting adult, elderly and mental health service users has also allowed her to gain a wealth of knowledge, deep compassion and empathy and most importantly, allowed her to recognise the need for consistent, safe and confidential space for service users to be supported in talking through their issues and emotions.
